Balasa - Daily Tagalog Word Scramble

Balasa means to shuffle a deck of cards. Every day brings one theme and seven scrambled Tagalog words, dealt as playing cards from the shortest word to the longest. Put each word back together as quickly as you can.

How to play Balasa

1. Press Simulan (Start). The cards turn face up, the clock starts and today’s theme appears.
2. Spell the word by typing on your keyboard, tapping the on-screen keys or tapping the cards in order. Backspace or a tap on the answer line removes the last letter.
3. Press Check or Enter. A wrong word shakes and turns red, and you can fix it straight away. A correct word flashes red and the next hand is dealt.
4. Press Balasahin (Shuffle) whenever a new order might help you see the word.
5. Finish all seven words to stop the clock. Your time, streak and best time appear in the results.

Letters are dealt exactly as the word is spelled, so ng counts as two cards: N and G.

Questions

What does the eye button do?

It uses one of your three daily hints. The next letter that is missing or wrong is filled in for you, shown in red, and it stays in place. Hints are shared by all seven words and appear in your shared result.

When does a new puzzle start?

At midnight in the Philippines (UTC+8). Everyone gets the same theme and words that day. After you finish, a countdown shows when the next deal is due.

How do streaks work?

Your streak counts the days in a row on which you finished that day’s puzzle. It stays alive until a full Philippine day passes without a finished puzzle. Your best streak, games played and fastest time are kept in this browser, without an account.

Can I play earlier puzzles?

Yes. The calendar button lists every earlier day, with your time for the ones you have finished. Past puzzles are good practice, but only puzzles finished on their own day count towards a streak.

Does the clock keep running if I leave?

No. The clock pauses when you switch tabs or open a window such as the instructions, and your progress saves as you play. Refresh or come back later and you will be on the same word with the same letters, hints and time.

What does sharing show?

The puzzle number, date, your time, hints and any wrong checks, plus one square per word: red when solved unaided, yellow when a hint helped. The theme and the words are never included.

Can I play without a mouse or on a phone?

Yes. On a computer, type letters, press Backspace to undo and Enter to check. On a phone, use the large on-screen keys or tap the cards. Screen readers hear the theme, the number of letters and every change to your answer.

About this edition

This Playdle edition is inspired by the Balasa word game. Its themes, word lists, card design and code are independent. It has no ads, and the game makes no network requests. Words are everyday Filipino vocabulary with common spellings, and a few place and hero names on themed days.
