Cutle Daily
Game details

Cutle – Five Objects. One Cut Each.

A football, an ice pop, a tennis racket: familiar objects, a surprisingly tricky question. Where would you cut to make both pieces weigh the same? Play through five different objects, watch the pieces separate, and chase a perfect 500 points.

Choose Daily for the same five-object challenge as everyone else, or Free play for a fresh set whenever you want. No account needed.

How to play Cutle

  1. Aim for two equal weights. Coloured ×1, ×2 or ×3 markers show the relative weight of the materials; open Help for their names.
  2. Start outside the object, draw one straight line all the way through, and release outside the other edge.
  3. Watch the pieces split apart. The A and B labels show each piece’s share of the weight.
  4. Collect your score and stars, then move to the next object. Each object gets one valid cut.
  5. Finish all five to see your total, challenge a friend, or play another five.

For keyboard play, open Keyboard cut, adjust the Angle and Position sliders, then choose Make cut. Arrow keys make fine adjustments. Escape cancels a drag without using your turn. Invalid cuts never consume a turn.

Questions

Is the aim equal size or equal weight?

Equal weight. The objects are flat toy models: each filled region contributes its area multiplied by its displayed material density. A ×3 material weighs three times as much as an equal-sized ×1 material. The coloured markers match the materials on the object, and Help lists their names. Racket strings are particularly light. Holes weigh nothing, and painted seams, highlights and sprinkles do not add weight. These are game rules, not simulations of real-world objects.

How are points and stars calculated?

The smaller weight percentage is rounded to one decimal place and doubled. A 49.6 : 50.4 split earns 99.2 points. Each object is worth up to 100 points, for 500 across five cuts. Scores advance in steps of 0.2 points.

Earn one star at 85 points, two at 95, and three at 99. Consecutive cuts scoring at least 95 build a clean-cut combo. Stars and combos celebrate your accuracy without changing the 500-point total.

Which objects can I cut?

The collection has 100 individually illustrated objects, including footballs, rackets, fruit, pastries, tools, vehicles and animals. Each run draws five different objects, one from each of five pools of 20, with a seeded rotation. Start with familiar shapes, then work through holes, handles, mixed materials and more complex silhouettes. Objects can recur across different runs.

Can I retry a cut?

Each object has one valid cut per run. Invalid strokes do not count. After five objects, Play another five starts a new free-play set. Your completed daily result stays saved, so practice does not overwrite it.

When does the daily challenge change?

At 00:00 UTC. Everyone gets the same five objects and rotations for the same date. If midnight passes during a run, your current objects stay in place and a button offers the new daily five. Finish all five on their own UTC day to extend your daily streak.

Does progress save?

Yes. Your cuts, current object, keyboard adjustments, results and sound preference save in this browser. Refreshing continues the same run. The normal page and standalone game share progress. Clearing browser storage removes these records; if storage is unavailable, you can still play the current session.

Can I turn off the sounds and effects?

Use the speaker button to mute or enable the synthesized cutting sounds and score chimes. Sound starts only after you interact. Cutle respects your device’s reduced-motion preference and shows the separated pieces and results without the animated effects.

How do sharing and daily comparisons work?

Challenge a friend copies a spoiler-free five-cut result and a link to the same daily date or free-play seed. Cutting lines, material splits and object names are not included in the shared result.

After a daily run, the five cuts are sent to the server to recalculate your score. Only your first score for that date is stored, with a hash of a random browser ID. Cutting lines are not stored. Comparisons appear once at least five players have finished. Five-cut scores are separate from the classic single-cut scores; server recalculation does not prevent every form of automated play.

What happened to the old shapes?

The archive preserves the classic single-shape challenges from September 17 through October 21, 2026, with their existing progress and rules. From October 22, dates use the five-object format. Archive play does not extend your daily streak.

Privacy and local storage

Your favorites, game progress, streaks and daily log are saved in this browser. You don't need an account. When you finish a daily Cutle, your score and five cutting lines are sent with a random ID to check your score. The cutting lines are not stored; only your first daily score and a hash of the ID are kept for comparison with other players.
